What is FeedJumbler?
FeedJumbler is a web-based application that allows you to:
- Convert a RSS or Atom-based feed into RSS, Atom and/or HTML and JavaScript
- Merge several RSS or Atom-based feeds into one combined RSS and/or Atom feed
- Put an RSS feed (or merged feed) on your webpage using an IFrame or JavaScript)
Optionally, you can also register to get a personalized page where you can keep track of your merged feeds.
FeedJumbler is based on the excellent Atom.NET and RSS.NET libraries. The source code for the generic feed parsing layer will be made available at some point.
Future Development
FeedJumbler is still under active development. New features are constantly being added. Please check back again soon.
Specifically, the following items have been identified as possible extensions of this service. If you have any suggestions, please do let me know.
- Add recursive feed parsing (i.e. an RSS feed of feeds/pages, e.g. del.icio.us)
- Add parsing for "meta-feeds", e.g. OPML and Neutrino XML.
- Implement feed URL extraction (auto-discovery) from HTML page.
- Implement tagging of configured feeds.
- Add ability to "shrink" feeds by removing full post text.
- Create SourceForge project (or similar) and release source code for library..
- Add stylesheet to resulting feed (similar to blogger-created Atom feeds).
- Add some kind of caching for the source feeds
